WASHINGTON, D.C. and FULTON, Md. (June 13, 2019) – Capitol Seniors Housing, a leading senior living investment and development firm, has opened Arbor Terrace Fulton, an assisted living and memory care community in Fulton, Md., near Washington, D.C. The $27.5 million, 73,000-square-foot community has 86 apartments. Located at 11584 Scaggsville Rd. on Route 216, Arbor Terrace Fulton is situated immediately adjacent to the Marketplace at Maple Lawn, a live-work-shop-play community anchored by Harris Teeter. Arbor Terrace Fulton is also next to Fulton Elementary, Lime Kiln Middle School and the Reservoir High School, which will add an intergenerational quality to the community.
“We and our partner, The Arbor Company, are proud to present Arbor Terrace Fulton, a first-class senior living community with the finest amenities, lifestyle, and services desired by deserving senior adults,” said Scott Stewart, Managing Partner of Capitol Seniors Housing. “We look forward to serving the needs of senior adults and their families for generations to come.”
Designed by Baltimore-based BCT Architects, Arbor Terrace Fulton has an exterior that suggests a boutique hotel and takes cues from the contemporary architecture of nearby retail stores also designed by BCT. The interior, designed by Dallas-based Faulkner Design Group, brings a careful blend of contemporary and traditional design best described as airy and fresh but also warm and inviting as soon as one walks inside. The entry features a focal wall with horizontal panels and inset bronze transition strips as well as a signature staircase with a style that is both antique and trendy. Neutral tones are mastered with unique use of materials, such as patterned wood floor tiles in the bistro/sports lounge. Pops of color give life to the community, presented through both modern and more traditional textiles, furnishings and accent pieces. Artwork brings life and calm through both modern and more traditional pieces.
Underlying the design of Arbor Terrace Fulton is purpose, largely focused on creating warm and inviting areas which inspire meaningful engagement for residents and staff. The community offers areas to socialize throughout, such as a pre-function space which flows into the dining room where residents may opt for a cocktail with friends prior to enjoying their evening meal. Other well-appointed amenities include a casual-seating bistro/sports lounge featuring an open-concept kitchen area, an appealing library with cozy seating, and a very comfortable theater/multipurpose room. Additional amenities include an art studio, salon & spa, a fitness/rehab room and much more. Outdoors, residents will find relaxation in the spacious courtyard and landscaped areas, which are all designed to offer amenities to exercise or wind down.
“We’re very appreciative to the Howard County officials, our development consultants, and the entire Fulton community for their support throughout the development process,” said Joe McElwee, Principal – Development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “We’re very excited to bring a valued amenity to serve the needs of the Fulton community.”
