WASHINGTON, D.C. and EVESHAM, N.J. (April 21, 2021) – Capitol Seniors Housing, a leading senior living investment and development firm, has started construction on Arbor Terrace Marlton, an assisted living and memory care community in Evesham Township, N.J., in Burlington County near Philadelphia. The 76,500-square-feet, three-story community will have 60 assisted living apartments and 27 memory care units. Located at 5 Executive Dr. near Route 73 and Evesham Road, Arbor Terrace Marlton will be located near major medical facilities, restaurants, and The Promenade at Sagemore Shopping Center. The senior living community, designed by the Meyer Senior Living Studio (Meyer) of Ardmore, Pa., and to be built by IMC Construction of Malvern, Pa., is scheduled to open in early 2022.

“We’re very excited to break ground on another development with The Arbor Company that will bring a best in class senior living community to Marlton,” said Joe McElwee, Principal – Development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “Marlton is a family-oriented, close-knit community, with top-rated schools, fabulous restaurants and excellent retail. Arbor Terrace Marlton will fit perfectly in the community and enable residents and their loved ones to receive the care they need while remaining in the community they love.”

The building includes 30,000 square feet of common space, as well as amenities such as a common dining area, private dining, a theater, living rooms, a bistro, a hair salon, seating areas, lounges and outdoor garden areas featuring a pond.

Designed by the Meyer, Arbor Terrace Marlton’s exterior draws from inspiration from the traditional colonial architectural style of South Jersey.  A more formal interpretation using stone, horizontal siding and ornamental detailing provide for a grand sense of place.  Large, forward facing gables, elegantly trimmed corner pilasters, roof dormers and chimneys also add to the classic style of the building façade.

On the interiors, Meyer’s elegant, high-end design combines traditional detailing, contemporary furnishings, and modern lighting fixtures to create a welcoming and distinctive home for residents.  Classic millwork details such as dentil crown molding and fluting strike a memorable balance with quartz fireplace surrounds and metal detailing.  Artwork and sculptures with nature inspired overtones infuse the interior with a grounded, calming feel, encouraging residents to relax and socialize.  The community’s interior color palette was inspired by marl clay, where the name of the Town of Marlton comes from. This type of clay is commonly found in local soil where warm neutrals combine with the saturated colors of natural stone.

“We’re very familiar with New Jersey and appreciate the community leaders and residents of Marlton for their support,” said Emily D’Alessandris, Senior Construction Manager. “In Marlton, the fastest growing age segment is persons who are 85 years of age and older. Our plan is to develop a first-class community that will become a valued asset and help meet this growing demographic need.”
