WASHINGTON, D.C. and WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (March 30, 2021) – Capitol Seniors Housing, a leading senior living investment and development firm, has opened Arbor Terrace Exton, an assisted living and memory care community in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, PA., near Philadelphia. The 78,000-square-foot community provides personal care and memory care to seniors living within three interconnected neighborhoods, which includes 88 apartments for residents. Located at 100 Oaklands Blvd., Arbor Terrace Exton is ideally located near major medical facilities, restaurants, and shopping locations. Arbor Terrace Exton was designed by the Meyer Senior Living Studio (Meyer) of Ardmore, Pa., and built by IMC Construction of Malvern, Pa.

“We’re very proud of everyone, especially local leaders, who worked with us to develop this beautiful, best-in-class senior living community for its residents!” said Dave Ennis, Director of Development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “Seniors and family members of Arbor Terrace Exton will be amazed with this community, which offers first class amenities and services that seniors want and deserve.”

Community amenities include a grand lobby, bistro, clubroom, library with children’s nook, salon, theater, and a multi-purpose art room. Arbor Terrace includes pandemic-influenced features such as touchless technology and filters, microbicidal paint, and ample access to outdoor spaces.

Arbor Terrace Exton’s exterior draws inspiration from local structures and farmhouses, incorporating iconic elements such as stone, shutters, and welcoming open porches. The overall form of the building was influenced by the evolution of a farmhouse, with massing that represents additions being added over time to a beloved home.

The interior design seeks to capture the unique features that create an inviting atmosphere often found in traditional farmhouses:  built-in niches, reclaimed wood mantels, ceiling beams, and fireplaces.  A neutral color palette paired classical detailing such as cased archways and a prominent barrel-vaulted lobby ceiling create a timeless aesthetic. Purposeful pops of color have been brought in through fabrics as well as whimsical artwork which adds a lively flair that will invigorate this community and its residents.

“We’re very appreciative to community leaders and residents for their support,” said Joe McElwee, Principal – Development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “The Exton area is a wonderful place to live, and we’re confident that Arbor Terrace Exton will become a valued asset to the community.”

In gratitude and to support the community, Capitol Seniors Housing recently donated $30,000 to the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (UAC), which will help the organization purchase life-saving equipment needed to keep up with the demands of the growing community.
